Students

The IMAGO7 offers research projects for Master and PhD students in physics, engineer, computer science, medicine, neuroscience and related disciplines. The students have the possibility to work on state-of-the-art 3T and 7T MRI system and to follow the development of the project in all the stages, from its conceptualization to the application on humans. The work is conducted within a multidisciplinary research group and in collaborations with national and international research institutes, such as UMC Utrecht and Cambridge University, and industrial partners such as GE Healthcare and Tesla Dynamic Coils.

Potential research projects

Myelin imaging

Implementation of techniques to image and quantify myelin and assess its role as a biomarker for neurodevelopment

Quantitative Susceptibility Mapping

Structural and functional study of the magnetic susceptibility of brain tissues as a biomarker for neurodegenerative and neurodevelopmental disorders

31P MRS in Muscoloskeletal systems

Implementation of 31P MR spectroscopy to identify biomarkers for neuromuscular disorders

Multi-component MRF

Development of signal models for the study of intra-voxel tissue composition

Quantitative Multiparametric Mapping

Development of pulse sequences for the simultaneous acquisition of several quantitative tissue properties

Artificial Intelligence in MRI

Application of Artificial Intelligence techniques to image reconstruction to improve quality and motion artifacts, or to the search of disease biomarkers
